When a couple’s engagement story begins with a diamond ring tucked away in a backpack that has gone ‘missing’, we know we’re in for a good time…
Chris and Erin met through the E-Harmony online dating site. Like most other people, they were at first skeptical about online dating, but they needn't have been. Within weeks they had met each other and they just knew. This was it for them.
Together with the diamond ring tucked away in that elusive backpack, Chris had taken Erin to the Sofitel Melbourne for the night to ‘celebrate her birthday early’ before she jetted off to Japan the next morning for two weeks. Heading out onto a tram into the Alexandra Gardens to enjoy a picnic dinner, and with the intention of proposing at some point during the evening, Chris suddenly realised that he no longer had the backpack with the ring. After frantically retracing his steps back to their hotel room, our poor Chris found the backpack had been there the whole time! Chris was able to propose to Erin that night next to a statue in the Queen Victoria Gardens, as he read out the lyrics to the song ‘Space They Cannot Touch’ by Kate Miller-Heidke. It turns out that their wedding was destined to be as much fun, and just as romantic as the proposal.
Erin looked truly magical in her Mussared gown as her father Andy waked her down the aisle of The Holy Rosary Catholic Parish in Kensington, while Chris beamed as his bride made her way towards him. The breathtaking moment of abundant sunlight streaming in through the church windows as they signed the register was noticed by all and captured stunningly by our cameras. Sometimes, magic just happens in plain sight like that.
The romance and fun was to continue at the ‘The Willows’ reception venue in St.Kilda Road Melbourne, and with Erin’s bridesmaids being members of a choir, we enjoyed a show-stealing, crowd-stopping song to start the reception.
Finally, our beautiful couple brought tears to the eyes of their guests as they danced to ‘Space They Cannot Touch’…the song from which Chris read lyrics during his proposal to Erin, before heading off to honeymoon in the city of love - Paris. Love was very much present with this beautiful couple, and this sentiment rang true throughout their whole day.
